Privacy policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

Hatchlog is built so your work stays with you. Your projects, tasks, code and prompts never leave your Mac. This policy lists exactly what is collected, and what isn't.

What's collected

  • Your email and payment details, held by the payment provider when you buy. The provider handles the transaction and the receipt. Hatchlog doesn't store your card details.
  • Your licence key and an anonymous per-Mac activation ID, used to check your licence. The activation ID can't be traced back to you or your projects.
  • The app version, sent when the app checks for updates, so it knows whether a newer build is available.

What's never collected

  • Nothing from your projects or tasks.
  • Nothing from your code.
  • Your prompts are never read into Hatchlog.

Token tracking

Token tracking is off until you turn it on. When it's on, Hatchlog reads usage figures that Claude Code keeps on your Mac, and stores numbers only. It never reads your prompts or your code, and the figures stay on your Mac.

Analytics

This website uses privacy-friendly analytics with no cookies and no banner. It records page views and where visitors came from, not who they are. The app itself sends no analytics.
